General history and facts:

”M/S Väddö” is a passenger ship built in 1992 by Oskarshamns shipyard for Waxholms Ångfartygs AB, Sweden. It entered service in may the same year as a commuter vessel in the Stockholm's archipelago. It has four sister ships, named ”M/S Vaxö”, ”M/S Viberö”, ”M/S Vånö” and ”M/S Värmdö”. The main engines were exchanged in 2003 and once more in 2012 to the current setting, MTU 12V 2000. Since 2019, Väddö is operated by Blidösundsbolaget AB, Stockholm.
