General history and facts:

”Högmarsö färja” is a cable-ferry built in 1979 by “AB Åsi-verkenLunde Varv och Verkstads AB”, Ramvik, Sweden. In the same year it was delivered to the the Swedish Road Administration under the name “Färja 62/313”. In 1981 it was sold to “Högmarsö Samfällighetsförening” and respectively renamed to “Högmarsö Linfärja 2”. Since that time it serves the line Högmarsö–Svartnö. In 2003 the original Volvo Penta D70B, 68 hp(50kW) engine was exchanged to Cummins 6BTA 5,9 GI 144 hp (106 kW).
