General history and facts:

”HMS Kullen (M74)” is a mine countermeasure vessel (MVMV), combining the functions of a minehunter and minesweeper in one hull. The ship was built for the Swedish navy in a series of 7 vessels of Landsort-class. “Kullen” was launched on 15th of August 1986 by “Karlskronavarvet AB” and entered military service in the same year on 28th of August. After modernisation in 2009 it has been reclassified in the newer Koster-class MCMV. The upgrade included better mine countermeasure systems and newer air-defence capability. Currently, it is armed with one Bofors 40 mm automatic gun L/70 and two 12,7 mm Browning M2 machine guns.
