S/S Norrskär

   

General history and facts:

”S/S Norrskär” is a steam-propelled passenger ship, built at Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad in Gothenburg and launched on 12th of November 1909. It was intended to serve the route Stockholm-Sandhamn and initially was named S/S Sandhamns Express. The ship went into traffic on 24th of April 1910. In 1947 it was sold to Waxholmsbolaget and two years later in 1949 it changed name to S/S Norrskär. Since then it continues to transport passengers in the Stockholm's archipelago. The original engine was changed with more powerful one in 2000. Since 2010 it is listed as a historic Swedish ship (K-marked).
