MV Ocean Majesty

General history and facts:

”MV Ocean Majesty” is a cruise ship built in 1966 to serve as a ferry (Albatros-class) under the name “Juan March”. During the first couple of decades it was operated by the Trasmediterránea mainly as a passenger ship between continental Spain and the Balearic Islands. In 1985 it was sold to the company Sol Mediterranean, and the name was changed to “Sol Christina”. Next year it was sold to Opale Lines and adopted the name “Kyros Star”. In 1988 the ship was obtained by Majestic International Cruises and the name was changed to “Ocean Majesty”. The vessel was chartered in 1994 to Epirotiki for about a year (under the name Olympic, later Homeric) before being returned to Majestic International Cruises in 1995. Ocean Majesty has been successfully utilised in the 1990’s and in the first two decades of the next millennium. The ship was briefly laid-up during the COVID-19 pandemic, but after 2022 it continues to sail for the cruise company Hansa Touristik.
